With the extraction of oil, what is the end result? ?

We use oil in engines to cool and maintain, however once we have exhausted this natural commodity, will it have any effect underground with tectonic plates, heat and the like? With the extraction of oil, what is the end result? ?
Very interesting question.

The oil and gas extrated from underground wells is not like drawing water from a water well or getting water from a hand pump. The oil / gas is floating over water. It is enclosed in between non-porous rocks. When a hole is drilled gas / oil gushes out due to pressure of the gas. If it does not come out of its own water is pumped in to push out oil. Therefore, water takes up place of oil / gas and there vaccuum is not created. So collapsing of void (empty cavity) is unlikely as it does not exists as water fill up the empty space. With the extraction of oil, what is the end result? ?
No nothing like that, with oil we don't actually need it. Yes we want it for cars etc but we don't need cars we can walk to places. Yes transport is easier and me n everyone else prefers it but we won't die without oil it'll just be difficult without it, but when we find a renewable source or develop a non-oil running machines and cars we'll be fine
No it wont, because the oil isnt in a lake under the ground like most people think. The oil is stored in something called ';sandstone';. Its a type of rock with tiny holes in it and in those holes there are Oil. So it wont have any effect on our geology.
Hey! I read this article, it was on the first page of Yahoo! and some scientists have substituted diesel fuel with COFFEE! Look the article up, it is so interesting.
