What is the amount of oil and flowers used in the process of maceration-extraction?

Or does the amount not matter? What's the ratio? For example, if I have 1 cup of oil, should I also use 1 cup of chopped flowers? What is the amount of oil and flowers used in the process of maceration-extraction?
The amount of herbal material varies with the contents of essential oil in the plants. In the middle you need for every cup of oil 1/4 of an ounce of herbs. In this publication you also find the extraction methods. But it`s better to take a non smelling oil instead of olive oil to keep the aroma of extract pure.

If there is a very little content of essential oil in the flower or herb you want to extract, you can use the method of ';enfleurage';, a specific kind of maceration:

To your second question: In my opinion the significance of perfume changes with people using it, like the scents changing their aroma with the skin they are put on.

Most people use it to accent their personality, their lifestyle, some believe, it could attract other peoples, some simply enjoy it by themselves.

I`m sure, it`s history explains it much better than me:

Are you making scented oil for your house?

There should be some protocols on the net.

But plant extraction in general.

Ya, a 1:1 w/v or v/v should be O.K.

If you are not getting enough coverage,

then can increase to a 2:1 solvent to plant ratio.

Probably don't need to exceed 3:1.

Dry flowers will grind better.

Prior to adding solvent,

Can pre-grind with mortar %26amp; pestle (with or without fine sand).

Or use a coffee grinder.

When will Yahoo add Smell O' Vision?
